Dhivehi is the language spoken in the Maldives today. Spoken only in the Maldives, Dhivehi belongs to the Indo-European family of languages

The Maldives is a nation of small islands with limited cultivable land. Therefore the traditional fare was fairly basic, consisting mainly of fish and coconuts.
